The appointment is agreed, and then someone still has to create a meeting, copy the link, and get it to the other person — which is how clients end up emailing "where do I join?" ten minutes before a session booked three weeks ago.
The usual fix is to make you bring a video account of your own, which means a second subscription, a second login, and a free tier that cuts the call off at forty minutes. The video runs on BooknTalk infrastructure using the open-source Jitsi Meet. No vendor account to create, no licence to buy, and no third party deciding how long your session may last. Your client joins in their browser with nothing to install.
Each booking gets its own room rather than one permanent link everyone shares, so an earlier client cannot wander into a later session. The door opens a quarter of an hour before the start, and a cancelled booking’s link stops working immediately.
The link in your confirmation and the link in your client’s are not the same credential. Yours carries moderator rights in the room; theirs does not.
Mark an event as in-person and give it an address, and no video link is created at all — the address travels in the confirmation email and on the calendar invite instead. It applies to a classroom event held in a room exactly as it does to a one-to-one.
There is no recording, no transcription, no breakout room and no dial-in number, and nothing here is administered from a meetings dashboard — a room exists for a booking and then it does not. Teams and Whereby are not supported, so a link from either would have to be sent to your client yourself. If you would rather hold meetings on your own Google account, that is the one alternative.
