Payments

The money arrives
before the meeting does.

Put a price on any event and it is charged at booking through Stripe. Payouts land in your own account — we take €1 and never hold the rest.

Start for free

No card required to set up. Free events never cost anything.

A booking that is not paid for is a promise

Collecting after the session is where the work is: the invoice, the terms, the reminder, and the awkward second reminder. For a one-hour engagement the collection effort is a real fraction of the fee, and a no-show costs the whole slot with nothing to show for it.

Charging at the point of booking removes the sequence. The client picks a slot, pays through Stripe Checkout, and the booking is confirmed only once that payment succeeded — so the calendar and the bank account never disagree.

How payments work

Your Stripe account, not ours

Connecting through Stripe Connect means the charge is made on your account. Payouts follow your own Stripe schedule, and there is no platform balance here to withdraw from or to strand if you leave.

One euro, per successful payment

The platform fee is a flat €1 taken as a Stripe application fee at the same moment the client pays. Not a percentage, so it does not grow with your prices, and nothing at all on free events.

Refunds give the fee back

Refund a client in full and Stripe returns our €1 with it, automatically. There is no fee kept on money you handed back and nothing to claim.

An abandoned checkout frees the slot

A booking that never completes payment does not sit on your calendar holding a time nobody bought. The slot is released and becomes bookable again.

What we don't do

Stripe is the only payment provider — no PayPal, no bank transfer, no cash-on-arrival flow. There are no deposits or staged payments: the full price is taken at booking, or the event is free. We do not issue invoices, handle VAT paperwork or run subscription billing for your clients; Stripe provides the receipt and everything after that is your accountant.

For the trade-offs between charging up front and invoicing afterwards, see our guide to getting paid for online consultations.

Common questions

When is the client charged?

At booking, through Stripe Checkout. The booking is only confirmed once the payment has succeeded, so an abandoned checkout leaves your calendar untouched.

What does BooknTalk take?

€1 per successful paid booking, applied as a Stripe application fee. Free events cost nothing, there is no monthly charge, and a month without bookings costs nothing at all.

Can I take a deposit rather than the full price?

No. An event has one price and it is charged in full at booking, or the event is free. There is no partial or staged payment, and we would rather say so here than after you have built a page around it.

How do refunds work?

A refund returns the client the full amount and returns our €1 with it. Stripe handles the application fee automatically — there is nothing extra to configure and nothing to reclaim.

Get paid when they book.

Connect Stripe once and every paid event uses it. See the full pricing if you want the detail first.
